Harry D. Odle Sr.

Harry Dale Odle Sr., 81 of Litchfield, IL, passed away Thursday morning, February 12, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his family. 

Harry was born December 13, 1944, in Hillsboro, IL, a son of Charles and Arrietta Odle. He married Leeta Law on November 14, 1969 in Granite City, IL. 

He was a member of Am-Vets-Litchfield, the VFW, BMWE Lodge 1107 and Litchfield Moose Lodge 1634.  

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jimmy Jones, sister, Iona Odle, sister, Bernice Odle, brothers, Clarence Odle, Everett Odle, Vernon Odle, Charles Odle, Paul Odle, Bob Odle, & Gary Odle.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Harry worked as a mechanic for Norfolk Southern Railroad for more than 20 years.  After retiring from NS, he held several other jobs in the railroad industry until he fully retired in 2004.  Harry's passion was fixing things, he enjoyed working on equipment and wrenching in his garage.  His true purpose was to help other people in their time of need.  He enjoyed gardening, his pets, and was always known for playing pranks.

Harry is survived by his wife, Leeta of Litchfield, IL, daughter, Toni Odle White of Taylor Springs, IL, daughter, Alice (Brian) Jagosh of Litchfield, IL, son, Harry Odle, Jr. of Litchfield, IL, son, Daniel Eugene Odle of Litchfield, IL, brother, Larry Odle of Litchfield, IL, sister, Sharon Gunderson of Hillsboro, IL, sister, Alice Allen of Hillsboro, IL, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

Litchfield Family Funeral Service, 700 South State St. Litchfield, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
